Prelude

The sound track of the present moment is a recording of Grieg's Lyric Pieces by Leif Ove Andsnes.  I haven't listened to these pieces for a very long time.  I feel bathed in sumptuous harmonies that are nurtured by spirited rhythms and permeated by innocent yet sophisticated melodies.    In some magical way, the music has once again allowed my soul to free itself from the mundane noise to dance in the realm of the imagination.
The thought of a blog has occupied many of my awakened hours for quite some time.  As I allow my thoughts to stain the white screen, I am still uncertain of the purpose, topic or frequency of this newborn blog.  It is this very uncertainty what has delayed my decision to venture into this new arena.  Yet, I feel certain that, guided by the music in the background, I am experiencing the opening rituals of an initiation into the world of words.
As a concert pianist, piano teacher, parent and spouse, human and spiritual being ideas abound in my soul.  Assortment of subjects will most likely find their way into this blog.  The unexpected is what I expect this blog to bring forth.  Hours of the day are already committed to so many activities (both vital and trivial), thus a new commitment seems irrational.  Yet the irrational sympathizes with the creative force within me.  So I courageously lift the veil of fear to the unknown and venture into the discovery of a new facet of my Self.  I celebrate this moment in the company of the music that has once again managed to sweep me away.  Thank you Grieg!
